KURB Newsletter October 2025
Faster search, coupons, new stores, and more!
When you spend most of your days sitting at your PC, coding and attempting to squeeze the full potential out of KURB in every way possible while continuously brainstorming new things to add, it’s easy to lose track of the days. KURB development cycle flow state does an excellent job of deleting traversing passages of time, probably the closest thing to a time machine the team has. However we will strive to package all the KURB sprawlings from the last month below.
We finally excised one of the biggest tech-thorns in our side this month with a huge update to our backend search infrastructure. In general the search speeds are the fastest they’ve ever been but more importantly the keyword search works flawlessly! You can now utilise the keyword search alongside the dropdown filters to fill the search gaps. Our priority is always on improving the search experience so let us know what you think, we’re constantly developing it.
Alongside the improvement of search quality we’ve also increased the quantity. A handful of new vendors including Buried Deep, SEK, Carousel, Okoku, Invaluable have added to the rising tide of 500+ platforms that KURB hosts. Sometimes, this feels like a process of trying to catch them all, with some constantly eluding our surveillance, illustrating how vast the resale landscape is.
Lastly, we also implemented a coupon system into KURB, which enables us to include any applicable coupons within the listing — ensuring you can get the best deal possible across the entire ecosystem, even if you’re not subscribed to their e-mail! Note the coupon symbol to locate applicable deals.
There’s also a bunch more for KURB we’re excited to unveil soon, we’ll throw you a few teasers. One thing we’ve been itching to update is our website design, with the priority being our landing page, with a focus on immediacy to better jump start your browsing journey. Concurrently, we’re working on the framework for new brands and vendors pages which will further seek to extend the usefulness of KURB, but will offer more as a guidebook for navigating the secondhand designer ecosystem. Finally we’re going to have a fully revamped favorites system to really unlock the power of your user profiles and enable you to curate curations with more specificity. We’ve always got our ears out of suggestions and ideas from the community so let us know if you have any ideas about how KURB can serve you better.
October also saw two substack releases. Though both relating to resale fashion, they are of a different breed. Notes on the doomscroll was more of a personal account of JP’s journey with fashion, the current state of both fashion and resale, and how KURB may fit within the landscape. Our interview with Asa Nisi Masa on the other hand represents a continuation of the handful of interviews we’ve already released. We are of course very proud of the opportunity to exchange thoughts with likeminded people and delve deeper into projects that are inevitably of both a personal and passionate nature, and we hope that our platform will prove to be the benefactor in their journeys that we continuously want it to be. If you are interested in doing an interview with us, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Next month, two of the KURB members will be going to Helsinki to participate in SLUSH, which is supposed to be one of the more renowned events for startups in Europe. We’re currently filling our schedules for it, but let us know if you’re there too and want to meet up! We’ll be putting on our best businessmen caps at least, but whether we manage to keep it on for the whole duration, that’s another question.
Finally, the playlist of the month is the result of those moments we find ourselves taking the occasion to process the things we’ve experienced during the day. The mix of songs oscillate between the breadth of emotions that we can experience, from yearning to frustration and will hopefully give you the opportunity to feel them incase you missed them, with the point being to take the load off and ensure a lighter start of the coming day.
And that’s it for October folks! Though the list of things to do and our inner perfectionists will never stop haunting us at KURB, we hope these have been sufficient treats to keep you tuned into the KURBiverse. If you haven’t yet, please follow us on Instagram for more regular updates and check out our Discord channel if you want to communicate with us directly!
