The chorus of feverish typing has never been louder at KURB. It’s been a frantic month of puzzling together all bits needed for our long anticipated new feature. Read along to find out how you can access the most powerful designer secondhand search tool ahead of time!
Earlier this month we had the privilege of interviewing Gisel of Suit of Lights and publishing a thought piece from Karolina of Garments On Demand. Gisel took us through her own resale journey that was draped from America to Europe and founded in her appreciation for timeless fabrics. Karolina wove together her involvement in the mending and tailoring industry over the course of her career and the ever increasing transformation it’s had on people's relationship to clothing. You can check both these articles out in our Substack.
We are excited to announce the release of our highly anticipated instant notification system next month. There’s still a bit of fine tuning to do and we need you to help us get it there. Keep an eye out for an open Beta invite next month on our Instagram and Discord to participate in the most comprehensive precision designer secondhand search tool on the market. Additionally, we would love to talk to you about how we can improve the platform for you, please drop us a line at contact@kurb.online, over Instagram, or on Discord if you’re keen to spend a minute chatting to us about your experience!
We’ve been churning through the log of suggestions offered by you guys and last month we rolled up our sleeves to finally engineer it together. Over April we plan on releasing better diffusion brand search ability, so we can finally appreciate the differences between the 20 different lines described by a combination of 5 different words Comme des Garcons loves to create (yes I’m looking at you CdG Homme, CdG Plus, CdG Homme Deux, CdG CdG) and let’s not even talk about the Junya Watanabe lines. We’re also in the midst of finally enabling a specific colour filter, hopefully without making the same mistakes as Grailed (offering every shade of grey possible in their search). A big element on our to-do list is to improve the search speed and reliability. We have a dedicated member of our team figuring out those intricacies so look forward to better KURB performance.
Our newsletter would be incomplete without a small acknowledgement of all the new independent vendors and marketplaces added to the platform. These include: Archive Closet, ANEW, Five Dots Vintage, Buy Beg or Steal, Vintegia, Prada Archive, BAD MOUTH to select a few. Along with a myriad of new designer brands such as: Buttero, Homme Plisse, Yohji Yamamoto +Noir, HaaT, ficces, Lilies and many more. If there are vendors and brands you would like to see on the platform, please reach out so we can look into adding them asap.
Finally we sneakily reshuffled the landing page following your feedback. Consider this the first of many UX updates to come in the near future as we identify ways to better improve the product for you!
This month's Spotify playlist is a bit more on the ad hoc side. Likely a representation of the suspense our minds have been under before bursting into summer!
And that’s the month here at KURB. Having written this all out it’s a whirlwind of new features and updates to come but we’re hella stoked to be the ones doing this for you guys. Every week brings in a new set of stuff we’ve crushed alongside an ever expanding list of things we want to crush all in the hopes of empowering consumers to unlock the designer secondhand marketplace! Most importantly, this could not have been done without your continued support, we’re dead-set on continuing conversations with you guys to become the best KURB on the block. In place of all the marketplace tabs KURB makes redundant consider dedicating one to our Discord, Instagram or Website!
Any thoughts on the above are also warmly welcomed via our email: contact@kurb.online
Catch you later!
