KURB Newsletter February 2026
Rummaging through the K-Hole. Together with you.
The gales of love that February brought in may have drifted on but KURB’s obsessive desire to help you get the clothing of your dreams remains steadfast. And as a gesture of our devotion we spent most of the month talking to you guys! Tuning in to problems you’re facing while rummaging through our K-Hole and identifying ways we could improve it for you. This month also represents a continuation of our more introspective Substack where we let our hearts bleed on what’s happening with KURB. We’ve also put together a short blitz of all the tweaks to KURB along with a discrete tease of something monumental to come. While putting you onto our angriest playlist yet– and really, something I’m sure Andrew Gower would respect.
Chatting with you guys about the obstacles between you and your dream garments has thrown fuel onto the KURB fire. We put out the KURB signal last month and many of you answered the call and shared spilled the beans on existing pains in the system. We are systematically working through each and every bit of your feedback and what’s at the top of our agenda is:
Optimising index updating speed
Remove log-out timer
Ability to resume from last point
Better filters
Improving UI performance
Clearly there is a lot yet to be done but we’re as committed as ever to bridge that gap. What has been most gratifying about this process is learning about the problems that you guys face. Vindicating what we do at KURB while reminding us that there’s love in the air for KURB. Keep it coming!
As an antidote to that feeling our latest Substack about spiraling KURB into the AI abyss should hopefully offer you some of the hair-pulling activity that happens on the backend of KURB. Developing the world’s most exhaustive and comprehensive second hand designer search system comes with its own sacrifices- all of which is self inflicted and entirely unavoidable. It offers a small glimpse into the madness that pushes KURB forward, a theme I want to continue every month. This month’s flavor will involve dissecting the utterly unexciting relationship Fashiontech has with Entrepreneurship, an exercise of pulling teeth I feel we would all be better without. Look forward to reading all about it soon.
This month we’ve really hunkered down on improving the search UX, listing information detail and ability to inform you on how to buy things from anywhere. This started with KURBifying the entire UI, trying our utmost to get rid of any sharp corners- let us know if we missed any! We’ve also overhauled the search technology to better capture information like material, condition, size and category so hopefully we can make use of those features soon. There’s now a dedicated proxies page where you can find out how to ship from anywhere in the world. And of course a laundry list of new brands including Burberry, Coach, Ganni, Miista, Stella McCartney along with new vendors like House of Magica, Year of Climax, Vintage by Abdul, Mother Daughter Holy Spirit to comb through. We’re planning to start this month with a bang with a huge feature update this month allowing you to better identify if you’ve found a deal or not, along with an absurd amount of frontend tweaks!
Have you ever wanted to understand what is happening across the entire secondhand ecosystem in one glance? To know where the best deals are for specific designers, what’s trending, and where to look right now to find your clothing? Well within a month’s time you can have all that and more. It’ll be our biggest update to date, something never created and we’re offering it all up for free! So make sure you lock into our socials so you can keep your edge over the ecosystem!
Head has been in the meatgrinder the last couple weeks and I’m here to report back on my findings. And by findings I mean distill that experience into a short Playlist! Sit back, kick your feet up and let the pleasant sounds of a rabid bear eating your head take over!
In summary it’s been a doozy of a month but we’re packing a ditzy for the next! Don’t let this Newsletter stop you from exploring all our appendages- let the KURB become you and everyone else you know, if you dare.
